When people think of EDC knives, they usually think of a folding knife. But what about fixed blade knives? I’m not talking about the huge Crocodile Dundee-sized knife that hangs down to your knees when carrying it on your belt. But one with a blade length under 4 inches and fits nicely in a sheath on your belt, in your pack or even in your pocket. There are many times I would rather use a fixed blade knife for an EDC knife, but you have to make that decision for yourself. So let’s look at some of my favorites and see if you might like them as your everyday carry option.
