Quick Product Overview

A descendant of the original Whole Kit & Caboodle cleaning kit is the Tactical Cleaning Kit, named as such before tactical came to mean what it does today. Made with pride in Lyons Falls, NY, this is more aptly a universal gun cleaning kit. The unique cotton patches create swabs for 360 degree coverage, ensuring a proper Breech-to-Muzzle® clean for most rifles, pistols and shotguns. Six bronze bore brushes are included: .22/.223 , .270, .30/.308/30-06/30-30, .38/9mm, .45 cal, 12 ga. Contained in a lightweight, compact soft pack case.

What I Like About This Product:

This kit has about everything you will need to clean long guns, shotguns and pistols. Cables, brushes, patches and an all-in-one cleaner to keep your bore very clean. I like the large patches and the special knot that you tie to clean your firearms.  It is a little different technology but seems to work great.

What I Would Change About This Product:

I like everything in this kit except the all-in-one cleaner, I am not a big fan of those types of cleaners.  I still like using Hoppes No. 9 solvent for cleaning and then Break-free CLP for lubrication.  But that is my normal way I have  cleaned guns for many years.

Final Remarks:

The OTIS Tactical Gun Cleaning System is a great gun cleaning kit and it does a great job cleaning.  It is very compact but it has all the essentials of a good gun cleaning kit.  I have been cleaning guns for the last 57 years and it has always been just like my father taught me: Aluminum rods that screw together with a jag on the end and square cotton patches.  Hoppes #9 solvent and whatever gun oil we had on hand.  It worked great for bolt action rifles and semi auto handguns, cleaning from breech to muzzle but lever action rifles, shotguns or revolver handguns always got cleaned from the muzzle to breech. Then along comes the OTIS Cable Gun Cleaning System and everything can be cleaned from breech to muzzle. This system works great because you can swab the barrel with solvent and let it do all the work.  It is much easier to clean guns with this method, I highly recommend this gun cleaning system.
